TXV is an air-conditioning/heating control valve that is used to regulate the flow rate of liquid refrigerants into the system. It is typically located at the top of a cooling tower or in a central location in the building. TXVs are used in many different types of systems, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and water heaters.

The most common use for a thermoelectric (TE) valve is in water heating systems. TE valve, the water is heated to a predetermined temperature before it is allowed to evaporate.
