An assistant will help you press your brake pedal several times and hold it down. The bleeder should be opened while the pedal is down. Carefully turn the bleeder to a half level in order for brake fluid to escape.
To get the fluid out of the brake system, you should tell your assistant to pump the brakes a couple of times. If you have an automatic transmission, you can use the same procedure to clean the transmission.

How do you bleed without a bleeder valve?
If you want to bleed just the master cylinder, you can have someone pump the brakes in the car and hold the pedal down. The technician needs to open one of the brake lines on the master cylinder to let the trapped air out. Close it as quickly as you can, don’t open it all the way. Once the air is out, you should be able to feel the pressure drop.
If it’s too high or too low, that’s a good sign that you need to do something about it. You can also check to see if the fluid level is low or high by using a syringe to measure the amount of fluid in your brake fluid reservoir. It’s best to check the reservoir every few hundred miles or so to make sure you don’t have a leak.
Can air get in through bleeder valve?
The cone shaped solid metal end of the bleed valve is above the bleed hole. The vacuum bleed system can still pull air through the hole through the bleed nipple valve even though the cone is closing the port. The air is not being sucked into the cylinder by the valve. This is a very common problem.
If you have this problem, you will need to replace your bleed nipples with new ones. You can do this by removing the old ones and replacing them with a new one, or you can just replace the whole system. I would recommend the latter, as it will save you a lot of money in the long run.
