P-trap doesn’t line up with the drain, you can adjust the length and height of your drainpipes by cutting them or slipping them over the top of the pipe.
If you have a large drainpipe, it may be necessary to cut it in half to make room for the trap. If you do this, make sure that you don’t cut too deep, as you may have to re-drill the hole in order to get it to fit.

How do you angle a sink drain pipe?
You’re probably aware that the drain needs to go downhill into the sewer. The ideal slope of a drain line is 14 inch per foot. The pipe should be dropping 12 inch of water for every foot it travels horizontally. If you’re not sure how much water is flowing down a drain, you can measure it with a water meter.
If you don’t have a meter, the best way to find out is to look at the bottom of the drain and see if the water level is rising or falling. This will give you a good idea of how fast the flow is.

Anything below already creates its own p-trap, so using it is pointless. I have found that the best solution to this problem is to place the trap in the middle of the drain.
This way water will flow down the sides and not down into the bottom. It is also easier to control the amount of water that flows out. I have also found it to be much more effective if you place it at the end of a drain rather than the top. The reason for this is that when water is flowing out of your drain, it tends to flow in a straight line.
