Just hook the grate and lift it out using your legs and not your back. You’ll keep your fingers wrapped around the Grate Hook’s handle, far away from that heavy grate and the carnage they’re going to create. Once you’ve got the grates out of the way, it’s time to clean up the mess you made. Grab a rag and wipe down the floor and walls with it.
If you don’t have one, you can use a paper towel to wipe it down, but be careful not to get the rag on your face or you’ll end up with a nasty burn. Once you’re done with that, grab a bucket and fill it with water and let it soak for a few minutes. This will help remove any dirt and grime that may have accumulated on the walls and floor.
