You need to connect the positive wire of the dc power supply to the other side of the relay module and the negative wire to the solenoid lock in order to use it. Connect the ground wire from the relays to a ground point on your circuit board.
If you are using an Arduino Uno, you can use a breadboard to make this connection. Now you should be able to turn the switch on and off with a button press.

Does a solenoid valve need a relay?
You need a relay that switches at least 24V and 25A with a coil rated for 3V maybe 2.5V. You need a 25A+ fly-back on the output of the solenoid to protect the contacts, and a 1A fly-back on the coil side. If you don’t have one of these, you can use a 3.3V to 5V power supply to power the relay.
If you want to use an external relay, then you will need to make sure that it is rated to handle the current that you are going to put through it. For example, if you have a 10A relay and you put in a 5A load, it will probably not handle that much current, so you would need some kind of external power source to keep it running.
How do you wire a solenoid valve?
Attach the white wire of your multi-conductor irrigation cable to the one wire from each solenoid. Each wire needs to be connected to a different colored wire. For later reference, record zones against wire color.
Can you use a solenoid as a relay?
Solenoids are a type of relay that can be remotely switched on. A coil is used to generate a magnetic field when electricity is passed through it, which opens or closes the relay.
How do you control a solenoid?
To switch the current on and off is the easiest way to drive a solenoid. This is often done with a low-side switch. The current is limited by the supply and DC resistance of the switch. The current flow is controlled by a switch, which is connected to the output of a voltage divider. A more complex circuit is shown in Fig. 4.
It is based on the same principle as the previous one, but instead of switching the voltage on or off, it drives a current through a resistor. Each resistor has a value of 1 ohm, so that the total current flowing through them is 1/R2 = 0.5A.
When the resistor is turned on, current flows through it in the opposite direction to that which would flow if it were not connected. As a result of this, a small amount of current will flow through each resistor, and this current can be used as an input to a potentiometer or other device that controls the flow of voltage.
How does a DC latching solenoid work?
As a short pulse of electrical current is applied to the coil, the permanent magnet receives a small magnetic flux, which moves the plunger to the fixed pole. The permanent magnet holds the armature in the same position when current is removed. The magnet is made of a single piece of steel, with a hole in one end.
The hole is drilled through the center of the magnet, and the steel is wound around the hole to form a coil. This coil is connected to an electromagnet, so that when the electromagnets are turned on and off, they cause a current to flow in opposite directions. In this way, a magnetic field is created that can be used to control the direction of an electric current.
How many wires are connected to a solenoid?
The coil is the single electrical component of a solenoid. The coil only requires the connection of two wires to the live and neutral points of the power supply in the case of an alternating current (ac) solenoid or the positive and negative terminals in a voltage-controlled (voltage-controlled, or vcc) transformer.
DC-DC converter, the coil is connected directly to a power source, such as a battery or a generator. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to use a transformer to provide the necessary voltage and current.
For example, if the AC voltage is too low to supply the required current, then the DC converter may need to be switched on and off to increase or decrease the voltage. This is done by a switch, which is a device that turns on or off a circuit depending on whether or not the current flowing through it is greater or less than a predetermined value.
A switch is also called a load-balancer, because it controls the flow of power from one source to another.
How do relays and solenoids work?
A captive metal plunger is moved by a magnetic field of an energized coil. The plunger comes back to a neutral position when power is removed. A contact circuit can be opened or closed by an electromechanical relay, which has an opening and closing mechanism. (EMRs) are used in a wide variety of applications.
They are commonly used to provide power to electronic devices such as computers, televisions, and other electronic equipment. EMRs can also be used for other purposes, including powering motors, motors and generators, as well as for powering other electrical devices.
